Improlift
Short of space, pit depth or headroom for a conventional lift?
Improlift is a stylish residential lift designed for passenger transport in family homes, where the space available for a lift is usually very limited. It offers freedom of movement to anyone for whom the stairs have become an obstacle.
It can travel inside its own robust freestanding structure, which forms the lift shaft and needs no more room than its own footprint, so there is no major building work, or it can be installed within a masonry-built shaft. It needs a pit of just 100mm, or none at all with an optional 100mm ramp, and it can be installed indoors or outdoors.
It runs from a standard single-phase household supply and, with an optional biodegradable hydraulic fluid, is kind to the environment too.

Improlift Plus
Want a compact home lift with automatic sliding doors?
Improlift Plus is a stylish residential lift with automatic sliding doors, specially designed for homes where the space available for a lift is at a premium, including existing buildings with no room for a standard lift shaft, pit or headroom.
It can be installed indoors or outdoors, within a traditional masonry-built shaft or in its own self-supporting modular structure. The structure avoids major building work and comes in a wide choice of colours and finishes, including glazed panels.
An optical 2D safety barrier covering the full height of the door opening gently stops the doors closing if it detects any movement. The lift's energy efficiency is rated Class A.

EP ELFO XL
Want an Italian-made home lift, finished to match your home?

It needs a pit of just 130 to 160mm and fits a masonry shaft or EP's own steel structure. Cabins come in Moderna and Classica styles, with finishes from stainless steel and RAL colours to glass and real wood veneer.
If the power fails, the lift travels down to a lower floor by itself and opens its doors.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What are practical home access lifts?
Practical home access lifts are domestic access lifts designed to help homeowners navigate stairs and level changes safely, efficiently, and without major building work.
Do you install passenger home lifts as well as platform lifts?
Yes. Alongside the open Barduva RB150 platform lift, we install the Improlift and Improlift Plus, residential lifts designed for passenger transport that can travel inside their own freestanding structure without major building work. We also install EP's ELFO XL and ELFO T cabin lifts from Italy, in a masonry shaft or EP's own steel structure.
Can a home access lift be installed in an existing property?
Yes. Many of our lifts suit existing homes. The Barduva RB150, for example, is designed for applications with little or no alteration to existing buildings.
How much space is required?
Space requirements vary by model. The Barduva RB150 open platform lift has low space requirements and needs no pit.
Are these lifts safe?
Absolutely. All lifts are installed by certified engineers and comply with UK safety standards. The Barduva RB150, for example, has a sensitive plate under the platform, an emergency stop button and an alarm, with battery emergency lowering available as an option.
How long does installation take?
Most domestic access lifts can be installed within a few days. We manage the entire process to minimise disruption to your home.
Can lifts be customised?
Yes. Platform sizes, finishes, and optional features can be tailored to suit your home and personal preferences.
Do you provide maintenance and servicing?
Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance to ensure your lift continues to operate safely and efficiently.
What warranty is included?
All lifts come with a standard warranty for peace of mind. Details will be provided during consultation.
